Not everything that happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. I promise.

When Bobby and I took our annual Vegas trip back in August, we were prepared for sleep deprivation, jet lag and hangovers.  What we weren't prepared for was the little souvenir that we were bringing home with us.  You guessed it, we're having a baby...or Baby Peas, as we've affectionately named him/her.

It was Saturday, August 20th when I decided to take a pregnancy test.  We had gotten up extremely early for a Saturday as we were heading to northern Virginia for my niece's first birthday party.  I took the test without Bobby even knowing.  In my defense, I was wholeheartedly expecting it to be negative and was simply taking the test to ease my worry.  However, the two pink lines on the test confirmed otherwise.  We were both in denial at first, in fact, Bobby insisted I take another test.  On our way to the birthday party, we stopped at a CVS to pick up another test.  Bobby suggested a digital test as the "lines and positives" tend to get confusing - he's so funny.  Thirty dollars and a pit stop at McDonald's later (classy...I know), we were "positive" we're having a baby.  We experienced a rush of emotions - confusion, shock, excitement, worry - on our drive to my sister's house that day.  But, ready or not, it's happening :)

Several of my friends have inspired me to blog throughout my pregnancy.  It's a nice way for our friends and family to keep track of all the fun, or not so fun, experiences we are going through.  We are very excited to become a family of three very soon!  To anyone reading this, we hope you enjoy this incredible journey with us...

  1. Dude. Vegas baby. Awesome. I'm pretty sure that's how Alexander the Great got his start. I'll work on thinking of Vegas-related names. If it's a girl, I think Roulette is pretty. If it's a guy, what about Elvis? Or Three-Card Monty? Baccarat? Possibilities are endless.

Also, congratulations. This is awesome news for you guys.
